From Iris Apfel's personal collection: A stunning copy of Beyond the Tanabata Bridge: Traditional Japanese Textiles, which seemed like it may have been used as a reference. It has a few pieces of paper stuck in and used to bookmark certain pages as well as black and white photocopied pages of one section which we've left as is.
Each book will arrive with a provenance card.
Official synopsis of the book: "Startling in their capacity to embody aesthetic and social values, the woven arts from Japan suggest that culture's long history and rich tradition of producing textiles that can truly be considered an art form. For her eclectic sense of personal style, she drew from art, culture and prints and patterns from all over the world. Prized in her personal collection of objects were a vast series of books ranging in subjects from photography to art, design, textiles and fashion. These undoubtedly served as a main source of inspiration behind all her wildly styled, mesmerizing fashion looks. Some of these books are inscribed, bookmarked, or embedded with personal notes.
