Iris Apfel's Highly Documented Vintage Massive Mirrored Ebony Bangle

EDITOR'S PICK: From Iris Apfel's personal collection: An incredibly, highly documented favorite bangle from fashion's favorite maximalist best known for her fantastic bracelet stacks. Iris Apfel's Highly Documented Vintage Massive Mirrored Ebony Bangle is a huge, hulking, heavyweight bracelet estimated to be from the 1970s - early 2000s, made of ebony wood, layered with clay, broken mirror, and glass rhinestones. She typically paired it with a mix of other black and white textural bracelets.

You can't get better provenance than this. Iris wears this bangle in the opening page of her book Accidental Icon (2018), seen in our gallery at the last photo. This item will ship with a complimentary copy of the book.

Iris also often wore this bracelet and on multiple, very major occasions. Please see our photo gallery. She wore it most in some of her most documented moments: at her photoshoot for Christie's magazine, in close-up beauty shots (seen in her multiple books as well!) and at the launch of her Barbie collaboration. Signs of wear include the smell of perfume on the inside of the bangle!!

ERA: Estimated 1970s.

CONDITION: In good secondhand condition, with some normal wear and tear that comes with age. Light visible scratching throughout. There is a minor blemish were a sticker was placed inside, which removed some of the lacquer. Luckily this does not affect the look when worn.

MEASUREMENTS: 2.5 inches wide on wrist.
