From Iris Apfel's personal collection: A massive, glittering panther ring from designer Alexis Bittar. With brutalist gold plated sides, a gem-covered panther slinks over a multidimensional crystal orb. Totally mesmerizing!

Iris Apfel was a friend of the designer Alexis Bittar, and amassed a huge amount of his jewelry during her lifetime. She even once starred in his campaign, alongside Tavi Gevinson, in 2015. “I first met Iris in 2004—she approached me because she wanted to wear my jewelry to the opening of her exhibit at the Met Costume Institute,” Bittar told JCK Magazine. “When you see a woman who’s mature and has lived a full, interesting life, I think that strength of character and experience really come across in an image.”

Though we haven't been able to find a photo of her wearing this exact piece yet, these items are from her personal collection which she built over decades--often, not every piece is documented, and she wore so much jewelry, that sometimes it's easy to miss in her multi-layered stacks. But the fact that she kept this in her personal collection is truly meaningful.

CONDITION: In good secondhand condition, with some normal wear and tear that comes with age. Light visible scratching throughout.
